Head of Product Support (UK or Norway)

Vector is an internationally recognized manufacturer of bespoke compact sealing solutions and subsea applications with as main products the SPO compact flange, Techlok clamp connectors and Optima subsea connector. Many years of engineering experience enable Vector to offer customers a broad range of tailor-made engineered products, each adapted and developed to specific needs. The company’s customers include wholesale traders, large engineering firms, EPC contractors and end-users such as large oil producing companies.

To further our growth Vector is looking for a replacement for our current Head of Product Support who is retiring. The position is to be based in one of our offices in Norway or UK.

We are preferably looking for an internal applicant:

Main responsibilities:Head the Product Support Department, currently comprising two permanent staff located in Drammen in addition to current Head of Product Support based in Aberdeen which is expected to continue on 60% after his retirement. In addition, engineers / operators working at the manufacturing plant in Port Talbot are used as field personnel under Product Support when required.

Role (purpose of position):Coordinate all Product Support work on behalf of  Vector’s Product Division. Maintain and develop working procedures, prepare client quotations and invoices, approve work done reports and recommendations.
Plan and organize on-site Product Support Work, including coordination and delivery of on-site Product Training. While the Product Support Department has a staff of field personnel available, Head of Product Support must be prepared to travel to sites on high profiled work or technically challenging tasks, either alone or as support to the Field Engineers.

Communicate regularly with all Business Units and Vector Sales Offices, maintaining internal and client relationships, promoting training of both Vector and Client Staff on the practical aspects of Vector products. Promoting also preventive product support elevating and maintaining the reputation of Vector products in the field.

Responsible for: - Product Support Department operation, quality and staffing.
- You display an enthusiastic and proactive attitude, have strong operational skills and demonstrate solid go ahead spirit. In addition you should demonstrate a high degree of cultural awareness and adaptability.

Educational Level:- The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience from field engineering can compensate for lack of formal education.
- Required Qualifications & Experience include, but not limited to:
        - Theoretical and practical experience within the field of piping, flanges, connectors and fittings.
        - Experience, knowledge and network within field repairs and in-situ machining
        - Should possess or be willing to go through the relevant procedure to obtain an offshore licence.
        - Commercially experienced and customer focused.

- Attitude – positive, solution oriented, firm when required.

- Excellent communication skills combined with high integrity and credibility is required.

Language: Good command of written and spoken English is required.

Special work conditions:- Full time but can be combined with other responsibilities within the Vector Group.
